Noodle shops are a hundred yen to the dollar along Kalakaua Avenue. This one’s notable not for the noodles but for Hawaii’s great contribution to world of fast food---the chicken katsu curry. A large plate of rice, some pickled ginger, a large piece of boneless chicken deep-fried tonkatsu style and a huge spoonful of golden curry sauce. Oh, yum. Hardly good for you, but you won’t be hungry for a while. Also located at 377 Keahole St., Honolulu, 808-395-6556.
