Tres Hombres Beach Grill Restaurant Review:
Despite the fact that the Kawaihae location is a good Mexican restaurant, the décor is surf-city. The walls and ceiling are filled with surf memorabilia: photos, surfboards, even the tables in the cantina are surfboards. The food is more California-Mexican; entrées can be Baja-style with beans, rice, tortillas and salsa or island-style with fresh grilled vegetables and rice. The bar seems to be the local hangout for the Mercedes and Porsche crowd from the nearby Kohala estates. Prices are definitely more Californian than Mexican.
