The Tropicale Restaurant & Coral Seas Lounge Restaurant Review: The busy bar and dining room have a supper club atmosphere that nicely suits the Palm Springs scene, deliberately evoking memories of mid-century high times. The cuisine is light and exotic with an emphasis on Pacific Rim specialties, from Chilean sea bass to Thai shrimp curry and a rather tasty Kahlúa-barbecued pork chop. There's tapas, salads and gourmet pizzas as well. Maybe a little too much variety, but it is all well executed. Taking a cue from Mother Nature, chef Tony Di Lembo updates the menu seasonally. Cocktails can be refreshing, if not creative, with spicy mojitos and Moscow Mules. As the evening grows older, the crowd grows younger and louder, making for a festive night if you're in the mood to party.
