| Known for its meaty stone crab claws, Truluck's is the kind of place where you want to tie on a bib, roll up your sleeves and do some serious chowing down. The décor may be diner-gone-upscale, but this is not diner food. Regulars know that the only way to go is to order the claws as an appetizer, and then dress them with just a squeeze of lemon, drawn butter or spicy Dijon sauce. You won't have to fight with your food, either; the claws are pre-cracked. Next, go for either the Prime New York strip or the simply grilled center-cut filet served with Parmesan mashed potatoes. Add a side of Carolina cheese grits to further indulge. Be sure to finish your meal with an order---easily enough for two---of the moist chocolate cake. Every Monday features an all-you-can-eat stone crab dinner; come prepared with an appetite. Lunch at Truluck's offers good prices and filling meals and the bar is a fine place for a martini and an interlude. |
