THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ute City Bar & Grill Restaurant Review: In the landmark Ute City Banque Building corner, with windows that open wide onto the busy street scene in the heart of Aspen, the Ute City Banque, which used to be a real bank, is now a trendy bistro with fine food, live music and great bar scene. The décor is woody and warm with pressed-tin ceilings and antique photographs. This is a great place to grab a salad (warm salmon and spinach) or a sandwich (peppercorn ahi) for lunch. In the evening, with the lights turned down low, the atmosphere turns romantic, and menu goes more upscale with Colorado specialties such as organic pheasant with wild rice and sun-dried cherry cake topped with a raspberry-peppercorn sauce, or rack of baby lamb crusted in olive pesto and served with a garlic flan. We also recommend the bouillabaisse. Try the tarte tatin for dessert.
