V Cafe Restaurant Review: In the Rockville Town Center area, this tiny, almost-invisible Vietnamese gem is identified only by a small sign bearing its name. The “V,” of course, stands for Vietnamese, a fact you probably won’t grasp until you stare in through the front window. But once discovered, you will drop in often for one of its chilled fruit smoothies (imagine a soursop or avocado version) and a glass of fresh sugarcane juice. Pair either with one of the spring or summer rolls or the grilled pork patty roll, and cravings are gone. Besides, sandwiches (or banh mi) put to shame a Western counterpart: fresh bread, greens and shredded carrots, and meats. While you are waiting for your order --- you can eat on the premises, but the shop offers only two tables --- browse through the shelves of Vietnamese food products, then focus on the center table for its display of Vietnamese jerky in almost every imaginable flavor.
