Vieux-Port Steakhouse Restaurant Review: The European-style service and convivial atmosphere help define this Old Montreal restaurant as a go-to destination for fairly priced food in the historic neighborhood. Vieux-Port Steakhouse and its capacity to accommodate several hundred people at a time may seem daunting, but once inside, the old stone walls, warm interior and marine designs divide the place into several pleasing rooms, and in warm weather, the sunny terrace is a charm. Canadian beef is the best choice; try the signature peppercorn steak or buffalo rib steak with mushroom sauce. But there is also rack of lamb and seafood. The Sunday brunch buffet is complete with omelets, waffles, bacon, french toast, roast beef, fish and pasta as well as Québecois specialties including baked beans, smoked salmon, bagels and crêpes.
