The only thing tastier than the fashion-forward sushi rolls is the well-dressed clientele.

The fashionably hip rule the roost at Virago, but the ambitious cuisine isn't secondary to the social scene. Noteworthy Asian-inspired dishes continue to issue forth from the sushi bar and the kitchen, but most of the patrons choose to drink, flirt and mingle. Look for stone steak (sirloin or filet mignon cut into bite-size pieces for patrons to cook on a heated stone) and crab-and-shrimp dumplings. Monday nights are ridiculously crowded on account of half-price sushi and saké, but it's worth the crush to sample some of the over-the-top creations such as the Crazy Monkey roll, with eel, jalapeño, mango, avocado and cashews.
