Vivo Restaurant Review: Vivo's high ceilings, exposed kitchen and sleek, streamlined furnishings make for one of Hartford's more appealing interiors. From the moment you settle yourself in its midst and open the hefty menu --- and glimpse the likewise hefty prices --- your expectations will rise. Often they'll be met, especially via subtly evolving staples like the Tuscan-style flatbread and rotisserie chicken. And though some of the seasonal, farm-to-table creations sound more interesting than they taste, the management here works hard to please. Meanwhile, between the prep work visible in the kitchen and the occasional visiting celebrity, there is much to ogle at your leisure. Choose one of nearly a dozen martinis or, better yet, a dark 'n' stormy; order veal and chanterelle meatloaf; save room for blueberry cobbler warmed and topped with brown sugar streusel and whipped cream. You won't mind dining solo here because you won't have to share.
