The Vox Kitchen Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant & décor: This Fountain Valley venue is nearly hidden from street view --- it’s tucked away in the back corner of a sprawling shopping plaza. Yet plenty of people know about the compact spot, so expect a wait when you do find the property.
Likes: Lively atmosphere. There’s a nice buzz about the place, probably because it’s so small and so busy.
Dislikes: No liquor license.
Food & Drinks: Once you settle into the minimally adorned black and white space, you’ll encounter a tight seasonal menu driven by rather good Asian fare, running the gamut from approachable dishes like Korean BBQ gyoza to more adventurous items such as silken tofu with century egg and pork sung. You’ll also find a few selections cross-pollinated with a distinct Latin American influence, among them elote and a hybrid between Vietnamese shaken beef and Peruvian lomo saltado. While there is no alcohol served up, they do offer beverages including hot jasmine tea and lychee lemonade.
