Walnut Creek Yacht Club Restaurant Review: Retirees, families and young couples all enjoy this downtown seafood spot. Its yachting theme is partly in jest --- the sea is many miles away --- and partly not, because to co-owners Kevin Weinberg and Ellen McCarty, a yacht club is synonymous with warm, breezy, civilized camaraderie. The close, oftentimes overcrowded dining area is augmented by a heated outdoor patio. All menu items can be ordered and enjoyed at a full bar, which offers 65 different rums. Any of the fresh seafood is a good bet, especially the oysters. Service, on the other hand, is very touch-and-go. |
