In front of this suburban town's city hall, Renee Rowe established a wine shop and bar where she offers a limited lineup of small plates and nibbles. The tasting area is attractive with a small curved bar, tables and groupings of upholstered seating. Live music brightens the place the second Saturday of the month. Rowe changes the wine list weekly, including familiar and unusual sips and out-of-the-box selections, making this a good spot to investigate regions and grape types that may be unfamiliar. Saturday afternoons from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., five to six wines are proposed for special tastings. Cheese and charcuterie options are available, but guests are welcome to bring in food from outside. In addition, customers may have Rowe order food from area restaurants (menus are kept on hand) and she or her staff will pick it up and bring it back to The Wine Cellars at no charge. Pick your glass of wine, and voilà: supper is served.
