Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill Restaurant Review

: It may not be smoked, but the meat here pleases many hungry folks who want down-home cookin', Texas-style. The vibe is casual, day or night, with large wooden booths that can accommodate the whole family. D├ęcor is more polished than some of the older locations. During the week, it's a fun place to go with the office crowd for lunch. On weekends, the waits may be long for all the families filing in. The menu is served all day, so you can go at off-peak hours and still have a nice, leisurely meal. Slow-cooked meats like tri-tip and ribs are finished on wood-burning grills to impart some of the smoky flavor of traditional barbecue. There's also chicken and, on weekends, prime rib. The meats are sauced with one of the four sauces (available for purchase) after grilling, not during, so you can opt out of it or put it on yourself. Salads are large and fresh, with house-made dressings. Favorites are the tri-tip salad and Carolina pulled pork. Beer, wine and mixed drinks are all available, including signature margaritas. Nearby locations include Ventura and Camarillo.
