| Fashion Island was sorely in need of a lively American-style restaurant and bar, so this Yard House outpost makes for a good match. It's located near Bloomie’s, and you’ll find all of the signature Yard House elements here: warm woods, stainless steel accents, original artwork, a large outdoor patio, a rock soundtrack and---most important---an oval bar with 100 beers on tap. The American fusion menu by chef-partner Carlito Jocson features Pacific Rim flair. We particularly enjoy the grilled hearts of romaine salad, the buttery grilled rib-eye with garlic mashed potatoes and the tender and tangy sea bass. But with all those brews on tap and a host of specialty martinis on the bar menu, this place, we're guessing, will draw the thirsty masses as well as the hungry. Recommended late-night eats: the classic cheeseburger, onion rings and seared ahi with soy vinaigrette. Because of the noise level at this lively restaurant, kids are actually well tolerated, and there’s a nice menu of kid-friendly food. Other locations. |
