Zara's Food Store Restaurant Review: While big corporate-owned grocery stores are located just blocks away in all directions, Zara’s has remained a Garden District favorite since World War II. The place is frequented for more than just its old-fashioned service and ready supply of New Orleans pantry staples. Zara’s Food Store features a deli that offers a slew of sandwiches and prepared meals. Quartered muffalettas, rotisserie chicken and po' boys made-to-order are serious bargains. The actual grocery store is small but stocks everything you could want, from Creole cream cheese to European butters to Louisiana headcheese.
