THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Zest Restaurant Review: Zest's chef-owners---David Jones and Keith Sleppy---work with an array of fresh, local goods and a wonderful sense of humor. They outline modern American cooking as you always dreamed it would be: a smoked bison and rice soup that is remarkably creamy; a wild mushroom bruschetta with loads of sauteed mushrooms; a chicken potpie that would do Grandma proud, especially the puff pastry crust; and a grilled squid salad that captures the freshness of just-cooked seafood and a medley of lightly dressed salad greens. Don't skip desserts which include fruit, chocolate and pudding options. The decor is pared down to a bohemian simplicity, and a breakfront at the entrance is a bookcase filled with cookbooks.
