Zivaz Restaurant Review

: Zivaz is a small family restaurant, a fast casual place offering some of the best Mexican fare in a city full of great Mexican restaurants. Starters, called Platos Chicos, include guacamole that sings of fresh avocado and lime. Calabacitas are served baked in a red sauce with lots of warm cheese. Bigger signature plates present some of the usual selections you’ll find everywhere else, but then there are items that are a little more interesting. For example, the pollo en pibil, a chicken dish so popping with tropical flavors that you’ll swear you’re on the beach in Mexico. Also unusual is the milanesa de berenjena, eggplant lightly breaded and served with tomatillo salsa and queso fresco. Oddly enough, the asada burger is a notable choice, too. And a visit here wouldn’t be complete without one of the house margaritas; we recommend the hibiscus version.
