Tasting Notes: Meaning “turn” (of the road) in French, Virage was founded by former chef Emily Richer with a focus on the cooler side of Napa Valley, especially the rolling hills of northeastern Carneros. Her fourth rosé vintage, released in April, the 2013 is an attractive and elegantly produced wine. Pale salmon in color and light in the mouth, it’s ideal for daytime and summer refreshment. The wine displays delicate flavors of strawberry and pink grapefruit with soft mineral notes and a balanced, crisp acidity.
Food Pairings: Spring rolls, ceviche, fresh oysters, shellfish salad
