Paul Sorvino: A Tribute to Love by his Wife Dee Dee

Hollywood, CA, August 17, 2022

When two are so much in love with each other, when the first one goes to heaven, the one remaining on earth is in great pain forever. Husband and wife Paul and Dee Dee Sorvino are the perfect representation of this sad scenario. Dee Dee could not have better demonstrated the true love and passion she has for the late “Goodfellas” star at the homage held today at The Hollywood Museum in the Historic Max Factor Building in Hollywood.

The Emmy Award winner and Los Angeles native celebrated Paul’s life with touching, emotional, heartfelt, fervent and beautiful words while wearing Paul’s favorite color, red, in front of some 300 family members, (his daughter Amanda and his granddaughter Bizz), and friends. Paul, who was also an opera singer, loved people and people loved him. Some, none the less than Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Forest Whitaker, Chris Tucker, Chris Noth and Jon Voight, could not make it to Hollywood (at least that day) and sent video messages. The American Legion presented the American flag and the colors — Sorvino was also a Vietnam-era Army vet. Let’s not forget the powerful voice of Rex Smith who sang The Star-Spangled Banner.

Thank you, Dee Dee, for showing us that true love exists. I will keep you in my prayers, as I know how much you are missing Paul.

Paul and Dee Dee wrote a recipe book, Pinot, Pasta, and Parties. I had the pleasure to interview the infatigable couple about it.

Paul Sorvino died of natural causes on the 25th of July 2022, at the age of 84.
