2012 COLCOA French Film Festival Lineup

By Sophie Gayot

The weeklong festival will feature more than 50 films, including 34 features and 21 shorts.

It’s no secret that we adore French cinema, so GAYOT.com is proud to be one of the sponsors of the 16th annual City of Lights, City of Angels (COL•COA) Film Festival in Los Angeles, which features films released in France over the past year.

The event kicks off with the North American premiere of My Way (“CloClo”), a biopic about French pop singer and songwriter Claude François, directed by Florent-Emilio Siri, co-written by Siri and Julien Rappeneau and starring Jérémie Renier. Other films include Another Woman’s Life starring Juliette Binoche, Polisse (a drama nominated for 13 César awards), and The Intouchables (the hit comedy starring François Cluzet and César winner for Best Actor Omar Sy).

There will also be five series dedicated to topics such as COLCOA Classics (paying tribute to actor Yves Montand), Film Noir, and Focus on a Filmmaker, honoring actress writer-director Julie Delpy. This event will include her new film “Le SkyLab.” To close the festival, two winning features and two winning shorts from the 2012 COLCOA Awards will be re-screened on Monday, April 23rd.

All screenings will be in French with English subtitles. Family-oriented animated films will be dubbed in English.
