The proprietors of Daisy Mint, a popular Asian eatery a mile away, are behind this utterly charming establishment. With antique window frames inlaid with mirrored glass, other mirrors in vintage gilded frames, and bookshelves lining the walls, Abricott has a decidedly homey feel. A particularly engaging space is a private room with a rustic fireplace mantel and table sitting beneath a flamboyant crystal chandelier. For breakfast, the locals load up on fluffy waffles or eggs Benedict, while sandwiches are popular at lunch and dinner --- everything from a croque monsieur or croque madame to a pork belly bánh mì or hefty burger served with a mountain of fried, thinly julienned potatoes. A unique evening starter is a salad topped with a silky purée of tuna. Among entrées are mussels Provençal and a satisfying sesame-marinated flank steak. Disappointing desserts include crème brûlée and chocolate cake.
