: The chandelier-lit Arabelle in the Hôtel Plaza Athénée is a beautiful space in gold and white. The tableware sparkles on well-spaced tables, while ample Louis XV armchairs offer maximum comfort. The Sunday brunch is a favorite for the tony Eastsiders of the area who want to savor dishes like truffled oeufs brouillade and Nutella waffles. Afternoon tea is a classic affair of tiny sandwiches and pastries. Dinner should begin with the Jerusalem artichoke soup full of lump crab meat, pancetta and truffle crème. Follow that with roasted Long Island duck breast served with sautéed ricotta gnocchi, bacon roasted Brussels sprouts and sour cherry port sauce.
