Archeo Restaurant Review:
Featuring rustic brick walls and tables made from 150-year-old wood, Archeo’s décor is inspired by its location in the Distillery District’s former carpentry shop. Corporate executive chef Andre Walker and executive chef Tim Miles are responsible for the collaborative dishes, which includes sandwiches, pizzas and pastas. The meatball sandwich is a comforting mix of hot jalapeño relish and smoked provolone, while lemon linguine with clams is lighter tasting and more herbaceous. We recommend the braised short rib, which is served with fried polenta, tangy tomato jam, and wilted bitter dandelion greens. Skip the sweets and order one of five specialty coffees, perhaps the Bourbon Furnace or Inebriated Elephant. There's also an adequate cocktail list, several craft beers and more than a dozen wine selections. Although guests dine in one open-concept room, large hanging photographs provide a degree of privacy between tables.
