THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Arezzo Restaurant Review:
Located down a quiet Flatiron District street, Arezzo is worlds away from the gazillion Italian eateries in New York City. The Spartan space---bare walls, candlelit tabletops, and a long dark banquette---enhances the memorable Tuscan fare. Dishes range from the lightly breaded and pan-fried buffalo mozzarella between two slices of butternut squash with fondue of domestic mushrooms and aromatic herbs to the tagliolini with manilla clams, fresh Italian chili pepper and baby arugula. Of course, there’s also the organic veal scaloppine with wild organic mushrooms, truffle essence, potatoes and haricots verts. Add in the region-ranging Italian wine selections and the grappa bar and you’ll find yourself envisioning your next Italian escape.
