NYC restaurateur Ravi DeRossi (Overthrow Hospitality) is behind Avant Garden Bistro L.A. on Melrose. The kitchen, led by chef Sarah Stearns, presents New American vegan cuisine, complemented by natural wines and low-ABV cocktails. The menu features such dishes as tomato panzanella with baby squash and basil vinaigrette; roasted carrot with pistachio chermula and spring onion soubise; and spaghetti with arugula pesto and shiitake mushrooms. Outdoor dining is available.
