Eat Chow Restaurant Review:
Situated at the edge of a residential area away from Newport Boulevard's constant traffic, it may be a tough place to locate. However, don't let its obscured locale deter you from finding this compact venue. The somewhat cramped dining room is showing its age a bit, but it still maintains a pleasant, woodsy-mellow ambience. Eat Chow has established a reputation for cooking with seasonal ingredients and offering reinvented comfort food classics. At breakfast, start with a morning cocktail or a specialty coffee drink like a chai latte espresso. Don't miss the inventive omelets or the signature crunchy and creamy Mexican chilaquiles. At lunch, sandwiches and burgers can be accompanied by truffle Parmesan fries or fried green tomatoes. More Southern-style food shows up at dinner, like fried chicken salad or the five-cheese mac ‘n’ cheese. Dinnertime is also highlighted by more refined fare like the grilled herb roasted half chicken with French goat cheese salad and the tender hanger steak. Desserts have a Southern bent, too, highlighted by the banana chocolate chip bread putting. Beer aficionados can round out their meal by choosing from a pretty solid rotation of craft and international brews. Other locations.
