THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Beachcomber at Malibu Pier Restaurant Review:
With its green vinyl booths and wood-paneled walls decorated with vintage photos, The Beachcomber at Malibu Pier takes diners back in time to the 1940s. This nostalgic vibe should be expected considering the restaurant comes from the creator of Ruby's Diner and The Beachcomber's flagship location at Crystal Cove in Newport Coast. For starters, the "martini" with lobster, mango, and avocado performs a refreshing interplay on the palate, and an olive garnish adds a touch of playfulness. Other appetizers include shrimp corndogs with sriracha ketchup and a delicious tomato and blue cheese soup capped with puff pastry. Main dishes range from "surf" options like a Cal-Italian cioppino with lobster, crab, shrimp and clams to filet mignon for those who prefer "turf." Don't miss the wild mushroom and truffle macaroni and cheese, baked with a crispy crust. Conclude your meal with the comfort food classic s’mores, served in a glass with vanilla ice cream, marshmallow, hot fudge and graham crackers. The wine list is limited and somewhat pricey, so guests may want to stick with the beachy theme and sip one of the signature cocktails such as "The Bootlegger," made with banana rum and orange and pineapple juices.
