Inviting prairie-style décor creates a homey vibe from the get-go, thanks to wood details, earthy twig accents, neutral tones and a roaring fireplace. The menu has something for everyone, making the restaurant a destination for business meetings and family outings. The Boursin-stuffed mushrooms with horseradish sauce are a meal by themselves. On cooler days, the wild game chili with buffalo, andouille sausage and heirloom beans comforts the soul. For mains, choose between a half chicken, hand-breaded and broasted; braised short ribs; and a selection of seafood and steaks. A just-right finale is the apple brown Betty with Granny Smith apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, oats and Homer’s French vanilla ice cream.
