But then you'd be missing the experience of investigating the powerful range of Mexican cooking, from the playful flavors of Tijuana to the sophistication of Mexico City to the piquant seasoning of Oaxaca. The menu brings such savory dishes as ropa vieja with all the trimmings, grilled mahi mahi with pineapple sauce topped with chayote and bean salsa, and cocoa-rubbed pork medallions with cactus salad and mole poblano. Weekend brunch offers a special kids’ menu. Tile-topped tables in deep green, chocolate-colored stucco walls, a crazy wire sculpture of a mariachi band, and lazy ceiling fans stirring up a gentle breeze complete the always-congenial scene.
