About the restaurant: Celebrity chef and restaurateur Michael Mina has several branches of this posh steakhouse across the country, including this branch at The Americana at Brand in Glendale. There are a variety of dining areas, including the chic main room, private dining room, bar and a petite sidewalk terrace.

Food & Drinks: The menu revolves around organic, grass-fed and hormone-free beef with seasonal ingredients, as well as signature items like tuna tartare, lobster pot pie and black truffle macaroni and cheese. Also notable is the shellfish platter loaded with oysters, lobster, Gulf shrimp and king crab. For dessert, Mina substitutes bananas in place of the traditional apples in the tarte Tatin. The wine list includes a section dedicated to "Women in Wine," a tribute to influential winemakers such as Cathy Corison and Maggie Harrison.
