THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cabrito Restaurant Review:

Taking the West Village space of the short-lived and ill-fated BarFry is this casual, but hip Mexican eatery. The dozen and a half tables and long bar, complete with colorful south-of-the-border-style tiles, make a good setting in which to munch better-than-average tacos. The signature, cabrito (baby goat), is decent, though a tad tough. A better bet is the al pastor taco, marinated pork, which is more like a confit than anything else. The intermittently crunchy texture of the meat is an added bonus. For more adventurous eaters, the menu also offers braised tongue with avocado salsa and tamarind-arbol-glazed pork belly. Non-taco-eaters should try the green chili-doused chicken enchiladas, stuffed with Chihuahua cheese.
