Cafe & Bar Lurcat Restaurant Review:
This Naples restaurant-bar combo is knocking people’s socks off with its Modern American cuisine and über-stylish atmosphere. It’s owned and managed by D'Amico & Partners, which also owns Campiello. The first floor is the bar, with live music and a wonderful small plate approach (the tiny sirloin burgers make a bold case for a carnivorous diet, and the french fries with béarnaise rival those spuds in Belgium), and the upstairs is the more formal dining room. The wine program is quirky and thoughtful, with keen energy brought to bear on food and wine pairings (40 wines offered by the glass, and not the usual suspects). And what food it is: pot roast slowly braised in Cabernet Sauvignon with roasted root veggies; velvety whole roasted foie gras outfitted with roasted pears; buckwheat crêpes with smoked Kentucky ham, figs and a mantle of Brie de Meaux. The bar offers an eclectic, international mix of live music nightly.
