Cafe Select Restaurant Review:

Ah, Switzerland. Or Schweiz, Suisse, Svizzera, Svizra --- any one of the country's four national languages will tell you that this little mountainous haven offers a mélange of cultures and cuisines. With Café Select, Swiss-fare devotees have their own little neutral corner of SoHo in the form of a sleek Euro-diner oasis complete with yodeling serenades. Thanks to the proprietor's penchant for Alpine-region wines, you can pair your meal with a nice dry German Riesling, a full-bodied Montefalco Tiburzi, or other suggested selection from the friendly waitstaff (all wearing nifty aqua uniforms over their clothes). Empty wine bottles are recycled with European practicality into chic table water carafes. Brunch options include uovo ticinese (poached eggs over polenta with tomatoes, pancetta and croutons). Want some schnitzel or spätzle? Both are available on the dinner menu. To drink, order a bottle of the famous Swiss Rivella soda for the meal and an Emmi latte afterwards. For dessert, the smooth burnt cream with crunchy sweet meringue kisses is a treat to be shared.
