Charlie Gitto's on the Hill Restaurant Review:
Local lore has it that the beloved toasted ravioli’s first accidental deep-frying happened here. Naturally, that's reason enough to like the place. The menu is anchored by other classics: marinated and char-grilled chicken spiedini, a chopped Italian salad, brick oven-baked Siciliano pizza with sausage and vegetables, creamy tiramisu. Also popular are the meatball sliders at the bar. Charlie Gitto's has long been a sports celebrity hangout --- after all, it’s in the neighborhood where Yogi Berra and Joe Garagiola grew up --- and it stands to reason that the athletes are attracted by the quality steaks and a good wine list, strong on brawny Italian varieties and developed by in-house, certified sommeliers.
