![]() : This majestic restaurant in Covent Garden overlooking Waterloo Bridge and the Thames is a remarkable success. There’s a beautiful ground-floor martini bar and an elegant first-floor dining room. The menu is American based but more international than you might expect. A fashionable raw bar presents selections from scallop ceviche to beef carpaccio, or go for the Maryland crab cake or blackened shrimps or even foie gras. But the main reason to go there is still the American-inspired dishes like lobster, Prime steaks and the classic surf ‘n’ turf, and, of course, the cheesecakes and maple pies. Good wine list. Pre- and post-theatre dinner 5pm-6.15pm, 10pm-11.30pm 2 courses £22.50, 3 courses £26.50; set Sunday supper 2 courses £25, 3 courses £29. |
