Devon Seafood Grill is a fixture on Rittenhouse Square. Executive chef Scott Carroll sets out boatloads of fresh seafood in surroundings mindful of old-school seafood houses with their dark wood accents, vaulted tiled ceilings and fish carvings on the walls. There's the requisite lobster tank and a buzz at the busy front bar, which serves happy hour deals. The top-drawer service and worthy wine list distract from the occasional fumble from the kitchen. Crab cakes, seared scallops with seasonal risotto, and traditional bouillabaisse are well prepared, and you won't be able to stop eating the sweet biscuits that are a house specialty. Tasting menus with wine pairings and vegetarian and gluten-free options are thoughtful touches.
