| After an interminable time with its facade behind scaffolding, Devon Seafood Grill is once again an unencumbered fixture on Rittenhouse Square. Chef Jitendra Gulgule puts out boatloads of fresh seafood in surroundings that are mindful of seafood houses of the past, with dark wood accents, vaulted tiled ceilings and fish carvings on the walls. There's the requisite lobster tank, and a buzz at the busy front bar. The top-drawer service and worthy wine list helps one overlook the occasional fumble from the kitchen. The crab cakes, Chilean sea bass and steamed lobster are all well prepared, and you won't be able to stop eating the sweet biscuits that are a house specialty. |
