: Doug Fir offers a wide array of American comfort food dishes all day long. It's also especially convenient if you are staying at the adjoining Jupiter Hotel or attending a rock concert downstairs, but it definitely qualifies as a culinary destination in its own right. For breakfast, choose the omelets and pancakes. Tuna melts, Cobb salad, mac ānā cheese, fish ānā chips, and the Fir burger with Wagyu beef, bacon, Tillamook cheese and homemade pickles are lunch options. Dinnertime brings fried chicken and pulled pork barbecue prepared with house-made whiskey barbecue sauce. Another favorite is the grilled Idaho trout with hazelnuts. If you're in a cocktail mood, simply go for a craft concoction, and then order munchies such as the cheese fries, fried oysters, or potato skins with cheese, bacon and sour cream. There's a decent wine list, and a pot of bottomless coffee. When it's not raining, perhaps settle in on the large patio, sheltered from busy Burnside Avenue. A fire pit provides extra warmth. |
