Doug Fir Restaurant Review: Even if you aren't staying at the trendy Jupiter Hotel or attending one of the rock concerts downstairs, Doug Fir is a destination in itself. The all-day menu of traditional comfort food fare is served amid an unusual Lincoln Logs and stainless steel design. For breakfast, consider the omelets and pancakes; sandwiches, salads, mac ‘n’ cheese, fish ‘n’ chips and the Fir burger are lunch possibilities; dinnertime brings fried chicken and pork chops. Consider as well the grilled Idaho trout with hazelnuts. Or, if you prefer, simply order munchies such as the cheese fries or fried oysters and partake of the craft cocktails. On sunny days and warm evenings, the large patio --- sheltered from busy Burnside Avenue --- is a prime destination. |
