THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Earth Restaurant Review:
As the name implies, it's all about what's fresh and wholesome at this Midtown restaurant. At the lounge and bar area you may nosh on small plates while sipping specialty cocktails. The bustling main restaurant with its muted earth tones, wood floor and open kitchen has a touch of elegance. Ontario-raised meats are offered by the ounce and are cut to order ensuring diners get exactly what they want. Competent cooking means the locally sourced fish --- be it rainbow trout or Lake Huron walleye --- arrive tender and moist. Flatbreads from the wood-burning oven come topped with eclectic ingredients, like suckling pig and boudin noir. Potato gnocchi satisfies vegetarians with its mix of Northern Woods mushrooms, squash, kale and black truffle Pecorino. Desserts include inventive cheddar ice cream atop an apple crumble. The wine list, well-stocked with Canadian labels, is affordably priced. There's a daily happy hour from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. The outdoor patio makes for great summer dining. Also located in Bloor West Village.
