Echo & Rig Steakhouse & Butcher Shop Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: At the entrance, a glass meat locker provides a view into the butcher shop, where packaged meats are wrapped in blue butcher paper with twine and a wax seal. The restaurant on the second level features floor-to-ceiling windows and a patio with views of the trendy Tivoli Village center, an open kitchen, marble flooring and a bright and comfortable ambience.

Food & Drinks: Not-to-be-missed starters include grilled octopus with gigante beans, garlic and green olive vinaigrette; portobello fries with herb aïoli; an “Over the Rainbow” salad with faro, quinoa, corn, asparagus, herbs and Champagne vinaigrette; and fried cauliflower with chile de arbol and crispy shallots. Natural USDA Prime and grass-fed beef comes in cuts of tri-tip, hanger, flank, rib-eye, skirt, spencer, New York strip, Snake River Farms Wagyu and tenderloin. They are cooked over red oak and served with homemade garlic chips and mushroom Rockefeller. Non-carnivores will appreciate the drunken goat sandwich made with red wine-marinated goat cheese, Brie, cranberry chutney, herbs de Provence, green apple, petite greens and walnut bread. Seventeen wines are served by the half-glass, allowing you to design your own wine tasting, and several craft beer choices include locally brewed Big Dog’s Red Hydrant Ale. Finish with the caramel turtle sundae with peanut brittle pieces, bourbon sauce, chocolate chunks and salted caramel ice cream.
