Edendale Restaurant Review:

Whether channeling the area's rich early movie-making history or its former role housing Fire Station 56, Edendale is a suitably dignified presence for this already lore-saturated locale. The pressed-tin ceiling, wood floors and smartly set tables provide a stylish setting for elevated fusion cuisine that spans the American South, Asia, the Mediterranean and Latin America. Appetizers include Peruvian ceviche and lamb meatballs, while salads range from stone fruit and jamón Serrano to wasabi beet. Specialties feature braised boneless oxtail and tomatillo pork confit, while entrées spotlight an organic heritage pork chop, vol au vent with short rib, and green tea tataki albacore. Choose from a list of a dozen-plus wines by the glass, half-bottle or bottle. Even though the Mixville Bar name is gone, this is still a popular drinking destination for Eastsiders.
