Fiola Mare Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: At this waterfront destination, sitting at a riverview table and indulging in Fabio Trabocchi’s elegant --- and expensive --- cuisine is a singular treat. To avoid lengthy walks and parking problems, use the restaurant’s valet for a quick jaunt to the front door (outdoor deck dining is also available in season). Courteous waitstaff seat you, bring the regular, specials and wine menus, and then leave you to figure out what to devour. For a cost-effective lunch, opt for the “Maria Menu,” a tribute to Trabocchi’s wife and designed to provide three courses at a fixed price.
Food & Drinks: Entrées might include cod or seared sea scallops, but it will be ultra-fresh seafood. Otherwise, scan for other options, from the ahi tartare with smoky eggplant appetizer to fresh oysters, pasta selections, a lobster salad and a crab cake without filler. Among the desserts are Sardinian doughnuts with gelato and maple toffee sauce. The dinner menu basically mirrors the noonday version but with the addition of caviar varieties, roasted duck and Wagyu beef. Note: To assure seating make reservations. However, you can settle in at the bar and order an entrée plus wine.
