Frita Batidos Restaurant Review:

For years, restaurateur, Bravo's “Top Chef” contestant and cookbook author Eve Aronoff dreamed of fritas: Cuban burgers often made with chorizo and topped with shoestring fries in an egg bun. She also likes batidos (tropical milkshakes), which is why she decided to open Frita Batidos, a paean to the Cuban classics and a steadfast approach to using farm-to-table and locally sourced products. Among the batidos, we like the coconut cream, fresh lime, hibiscus, passion fruit and chocolate Español made with fresh fruit, crushed ice and Guernsey Dairy vanilla ice cream. We find ourselves stopping by for conch fritters, churros, coconut ginger rice and the chorizo, beef, black bean, turkey and fish fritas. For brunch, don’t miss the tropical bread pudding and conch hash. Brews include Negra Modelo, Bell’s Seasonal and Founders All Day IPA; for hard liquor lovers, there’s Frita margaritas, mojitos and Cuba Libres.
