: Visitors and locals have been dining for many years at this no-frills, pull-up-a-chair-and-chow-down restaurant, open only during the summer beach season. The fare is anything but “light”: hearty turkey dinners, meatloaf and pies. Soups are made daily from fresh ingredients, but most notable is Groff’s crab chowder, rich and thick and fragrant with the aroma of the sea. There’s pot roast and ham with raisins served in generous portions. The children’s menu is vast with selections that range far beyond hot dogs and chicken fingers, and the senior meals are a bargain. Although there are a few desserts other than pies, you’d be a fool to leave without a bite of the glazed peach. |
