: This dim sum pagoda, hidden on Emeryville's marina, has a sweeping view of the bay and San Francisco cityscape beyond. Finding it feels like a discovery, its clean, quiet rooms a friendly respite from the football field-like banquet rooms of other dim sum establishments. Rather than offering the classic choose-from-a-cart experience, diners are presented with a dim sum menu. Try the juicy mini Shanghai dumplings with fresh ginger; barbecued pork buns with fluffy dough; egg custard tarts with savory pastry or sesame balls stuffed with red bean paste. Soups, fried rice and noodle dishes can satisfy the dim sum avoidant. Note: Expect a charge for tea. Also, service can be abrupt and lacking. |
