Kim Tar Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Kim Tar’s Chinese food bears unmistakable influences from Thailand and Vietnam. Flavors like curry, mint and tamarind reveal the cross-cultural heritage of the Chaozhou Chinese who migrated to Southeast Asia a century ago. The hu tieu, or rice noodle, dishes are especially good. We also recommend the seafood offerings, such as Thai curry crab and fish filets stir-fried with mint and asparagus, and a house special, the Vietnamese sour fish soup. It’s open late and prices are cheap, but don’t forget that it’s cash only.
