Langdon Hall Restaurant Review:
Built in the late 1800s as a summer retreat from city life, Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa in Cambridge still stands as a secluded estate today. Its restaurant is committed to utilizing locally sourced ingredients, including produce from Langdon Hall's own gardens, so diners can experience unique meals. Interesting pairings are offered, like rhubarb and foie gras, venison with spiced chocolate, or plum bread pudding with Szechuan peppercorn ice cream. Sunday brunch is an elegant affair, with the possibilities of pickerel, hen of the woods mushrooms and Champagne cream, or fried goose egg and lentil vinaigrette. The Chef's Tasting Menu is available daily from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., for which Jason Bangerter creates dishes inspired by the aforementioned on-site gardens. This menu also has an optional wine pairing. Menu items change often depending on what is in season --- think snow crab with grapes and sumac or marinated lamb with ramps and black radish.
