THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Le Bellissimo Restaurant Review:
Chef Christophe Jardillier and wife Patricia come from Nice, where distinctions between the cuisines of France and Italy are beautifully ambiguous. The same can be said for the menu at their Rancho Cucamonga restaurant, a place filled with oil paintings of the Riviera that evoke the feeling of a Mediterranean village. Starters include baked escargots, goat cheese toast and roasted artichokes. The large portions of pasta are worth sharing for an intermediate course---before dishes like rack of lamb, filet mignon or veal chop---and are all cooked à la minute with a choice of sauces such as Dijon mustard, Gorgonzola cream and peppercorn. The rack of lamb with a pesto crust is about the best we've had in the Inland Empire, ideally paired with a silky, honey-infused balsamic reduction and Côtes du Rhône from the wine list. Seafood options include scallops served with a reduction sweetened with Sauternes and oranges.
