Le Galopin Restaurant Review:

The brothers Maxime and Romain Tischenko rule this informal bistro. The former previously worked at the Chateaubriand as a sommelier while the latter has honed his chops at Ze Kitchen Galerie. The dishes stand out for their Asian flavors, bold combinations of tastes and sophisticated presentation. As the restaurant is closed for lunch, the chef prepares a unique menu for dinner at €49, with seven courses. Depending on the inspiration at the stoves, items may include poultry ravioli; dashi broth with skipjack, seaweed and smoked eel; octopus flavored with citrus fruit and celery; and hake served with asparagus and spiced with yuzu kosho sauce. Clever seasonings also enhance the lamb from Burgundy, which comes with garlic and matcha tea. Desserts look sober in comparison, a pleasant apple and tamarind sherbet and a pumpkin soufflé. To accompany this crafty fare, a bunch of organic wines are suggested.
